Defended a number of high-net-worth individuals and celebrities against allegations of assault and even murder. In the case of John Broadhurst, the Midlands industrialist charged with the murder of his partner, the profile of the case was such that questions were raised in Parliament and Mr Vullo KC was interviewed by a number of media outlets including the BBC.
In recent years the number of accusations of contemporary and historical sexual abuse have increased significantly. Mr Stephen Vullo KC has been asked to defend in many such complex and difficult cases, for example, Dave Lee Travis and Rolf Harris (for his 2nd and 3rd trial which resulted in Not Guilty verdicts being returned by the juries to all counts). Indeed, he is the only counsel to have defended in more than one Operation Yewtree case.
